Home Support Association Inc (HSA) originated as a local grass-roots service through the work of people living in this community and driven by the needs of people living in this community and continues to operate under these principles today after more than 30 years of change and growth.

At HSA as a truly local NDIS provider we work alongside people to identify their strengths interests and goals providing just the right amount of support they need to be able to live the lifestyle they choose.

The role:

As a Team Leader you will support people with a disability to facilitate a lifestyle which reflects their interests and strengths live within their own home and participate in community activities and events as per their NDIS goals.

Team Leaders also provide peer support to oversee and/or guide Disability Support Workers to ensure a high standard of support for the service user is achieved.

You will be offered a permanent part-time high hours contract working a set roster incorporating evenings days and weekends. Starting rate $38.65 per hour under SCHCADS Award Level 3 pay and conditions.

In this role you will:

  • Support Service Users in achieving their NDIS and personal goals including maintaining relationships employment and community involvement.
  • Oversee daily home operations including activity scheduled admin tasks budgeting and cash handling.
  • Prioritise health and safety for both Service Users and staff in all activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by contributing to team meetings implementing new procedures and enhancing service delivery.
  • Promote positive workplace culture by modelling teamwork resolving conflicts and supporting appropriate behaviour.
  • Encourage and motivate staff to actively engage in activities and perform to their best ability.

Who we are looking for:

Were seeking experienced Team Leaders with a strong background in the disability sector particularly in Supported Independent Living (SIL).

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and challenging behaviours
  • Competence in personal care tasks including hoisting
  • A passion for advocating the rights of people with disabilities fostering trust and collaboration
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Leadership skills to guide teams in delivering high-quality person-centred care
  • In-depth knowledge of the NDIS SIL framework and practical experience in its application
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to build effective professional relationships

What you need:

  • Full availability to work a mix or days sleepovers and weekends
  • A current Blue Card or ability to apply
  • A current Yellow Card or ability to apply
  • Current drivers licence and own registered vehicle and comprehensive insurance
  • Smart phone/tablet with internet access
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in the disability services industry
  • Sound communication and written skills
  • Highly desirable COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Highly desirable Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
