The Truancy Support Facilitator will provide intervention to students who exhibit truancy-related issues as well as provide support to student support teams with mental health concnerns. This position will work cooperatively with school student support teams county social services child protection teams law enforcement juvenile court and other agencies to effectively intervene and redirect youth towards positive school attendance and a healthy lifestyle. Areas of intervention may include but are not limited to truancy substance abuse gang involvement delinquency behaviors dysfunctional family issues and anger management. Provides a problem-solving service to children and their families as a school link to mental health services within the community.
This is a 1 year grant funded position.
