Global Field Operations Manager (Level K)

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Global Field Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Huntington Beach California Long Beach California or El Segundo California.

The selected candidate will be a dynamic leader who excels at building relationships and leading through influence. The manager will lead a team of field representatives in the Southern California area that support Boeings Supply Chain function through regular onsite interactions to our vast supplier network. Travel to supplier locations within the region as much as 75% of the time is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team to achieve key results in support of the business. Flex resource requirements to meet the needs of the day. Ensure day-to-day priorities are aligned with management expectations. Ensure a thorough understanding of people and processes.
• Develop enhance and nurture strategic supplier relationships. Engage with Supply Chain peers in the program and function to understand issues and constraints and opportunities to improve.
• Ensure the implementation of and adherence to standard operating procedures to ensure superior levels of performance. Identifying potential areas of process improvement recommend solutions and drive improvement. Develops and maintains reporting as necessary
• Document and participate in the implementation of lean improvements. Assist in continuously enhancing the skills of team members by coaching training and/or mentoring activities.
• Communicate organization initiatives projects or procurement activities to internal stakeholders within the team with cross-functional teams and to executive leadership.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 5 years experience in Supplier Management or Supply Chain Management
• 3 years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
• 3 years of supply chain experience (negotiating contracts managing supplier performance etc).
• Experience reporting status and recommendations to senior and executive leadership
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors Degree Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related field of study
• General knowledge of aerospace compliance and regulations
• General knowledge of manufacturing (composites machining coatings etc.)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• This position requires travel up to 75% of the time

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.
