Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic FP&A Analyst to join our growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing financial analysis forecasting budgeting and reporting to support key business decisions and financial performance in a government contracting environment. As part of a mid-sized government contractor the FP&A Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial goals operations and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and coordination of the companys annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Assist in preparing long-term financial projections including revenue expenses and capital expenditures.
  • Collaborate with project managers department heads and senior leadership to ensure budgets reflect realistic operational requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements highlighting key variances and trends
  • Analyze the financial performance of government contracts identifying cost drivers profitability and compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist in the preparation of Board-level financial reports providing actionable insights on performance forecasting and cash flow.
  • Conduct variance analysis of indirect and direct costs related to contracts and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to evaluate cost-saving opportunities pricing strategies and cash flow management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis ideally in government contracting or a similar industry (defense aerospace or other regulated industries).
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting regulations including FAR CAS and DCAA requirements.
  • Experience with financial modeling budgeting and forecasting in a government contracting context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact with senior leadership and non-financial personnel.
