Claims Handler - Technical & Large Loss

Glasgow - Hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

Full Time Permanent Position

Join us as a Claims Handler within our Technical & Large Loss (T&LL) team where youll shape the future of claims management tackle complex challenges head-on and make a significant impact on our customers claims journey.

What youll be doing

Reporting directly to the Team Manager youll be an integral part of the Technical & Large Loss claims team responsible for managing large and complex losses to achieve business objectives. Your role will involve supporting and contributing to our claims technical strategy managing a portfolio of claims with insured perils such as Subsidence Fire Storm Flood and Escape of Water. Youll deliver initiative claims savings ensure settlement cost performance manage large loss emergence maintain reserve accuracy and run off to agreed targets for both your own and the departmental portfolio. Meeting or exceeding agreed service level agreements and targets across all classes is essential utilising operational performance data for efficiency. Youll engage and manage suppliers ensuring adherence to policy and contractual terms while also supporting the Large Loss Leader as the principal Subject Matter Expert for large and complex Property & Liability claims.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service by managing customer expectations throughout the claims journey and ensuring a positive customer experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately record and communicate information using applicable systems

  • Demonstrated focus on growing technical expertise relevant to T&LL claims staying informed about industry trends and best practices

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team department and across wider claims areas to achieve collective goals
