Summary:The Facilities Associate is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of all aspects of Tenacre property. The candidate should be able to handle custodial needs and maintenance and repair issues ranging from routine to complex. The candidate should have knowledge of HVAC fire protection systems fire code and building code compliance building interiors and exteriors ADA guidelines and OSHA.
Qualifications:- High school level education
- Experience and knowledge of carpentry plumbing lighting general repair/maintenance work painting and cleaning procedures preferred
- Preferably 5 or more years of hands-on experience in a similar position
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse community collaborate with coworkers and use computer-based technology
- Ability to track budgets and keep records
- Willing to help support the needs of the whole school not just facilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to notify the community about impactful issues timelines of projects and completion dates; comfortable with written communication
- Ability to act as the liaison for the school when communicating with facility-based constituents (fire police alarm system grounds etc.)
- Familiarity with the Limble request system is preferredResponsibilities:
- Help oversee and maintain the physical operation of the school and its programs including the support of Tenacre Summer Programs
- Oversee the careful maintenance cleaning and disinfecting programs that keep the schools health wellness and appearance in exemplary condition
- Participate in keeping the buildings and grounds in a safe clean orderly condition
- Help maintain the schools machines and schedule repairs when necessary
- Assist in the receiving and distribution of incoming packages including large summer orders of school supplies
- Work with the Director of Facilities and Operations to schedule the appropriate spaces within the school for various internal and external meetings and events by utilizing the Facilities Rental Calendar; set up meeting/event spaces according to the Facilities Rental Calendar. Events are held during school hours after school hours and on weekends.
- Respond to complete and follow up on all maintenance requests including but not limited to painting minor repairs small construction projects and maintenance.
- Participate in the shoveling of snow and removal of ice from all walkways and stairways
- Maintain all aspects of outdoor play areas
- Participate in relevant training events and conferences that aid in continued professional development
- Learn and understand Limble task tracking system
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and the Director of Facilities and Operations
- Additional duties may be assigned
