Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement the Director of Major and Planned Gifts (aka MGO) will play a key role in advancing the mission of West Catholic Preparatory High School by cultivating soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. The MGO will focus on building long-term meaningful relationships with individuals alumni families and community partners capable of making leadership-level philanthropic commitments. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented relationship-driven professional to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 150 major gift prospects and donors including EITC/OSTC and planned gifts.
  • Develop and implement tailored cultivation solicitation and stewardship strategies to inspire increased giving.
  • Conduct personal visits phone calls and written communications to build strong donor relationships.
  • Collaborate with Advancement colleagues school leadership faculty and volunteers to align donor interests with institutional priorities.
  • Prepare compelling proposals presentations and reports for prospects and donors.
  • Partner with the Advancement team to identify and qualify new major gift prospects.
  • Track activity progress and outcomes through Raisers Edge and Salesforce.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of campaigns special projects giving days and donor recognition events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2-4 years of fundraising sales or related experience preferably with experience in major gifts or high-level relationship management.
  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and solicit gifts of $5000 (or demonstrate transferable skills in closing high-value partnerships/sales).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A genuine commitment to the Lasallian Catholic mission and values of West Catholic Prep.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally and to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
