POSITION: Middle School Math Teacher

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree

Masters Degree preferred

NYS Certified Teacher in Middle School ELA.

Demonstrate an ability to share knowledge collaboratively

Experience in demonstrating effective classroom and or student teaching instruction.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and implement lesson plans to enhance literacy skills
• Create a curriculum appropriate for Middle School
• Apply classroom management strategies with an emphasis on student accountability
• Interact with parents and the School to strategize learning plans for students
• Foster a nurturing learning environment. Helping students to maintain strong reading and writing skills
• Supervise Teacher Assistant
• Provide the ELA Program at the Middle School
• Collect analyze and disseminate assessment data in subject areas.
• Interpret ELA assessments to plan for and choose appropriate forms of interventions to help remediate the difficulties.
• Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments to monitor students progress and academic achievement.
• Work with grade-level teachers to develop strategies to maximize student performance and progress
• Develop daily schedules for students
• Makes knowledge accessible to all students
• Developing students cognitive capacity and respect for learning
• Fostering students self-esteem motivation and sense of civic responsibility.
• Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements.
• Take daily student attendance in each class on PowerSchool.
• Plan and guide the learning process to help students achieve program objectives.
• Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Implements practical diagnostic and progress assessment measures.
• Participate in Data Team Meetings
• Select and use effective instructional methods and learning materials as provided by Roosevelt Childrens Academy.
• Establishes a cooperative relationship with all assigned students.
• Maintains open lines of communication with parents and guardians.
• Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development.
• Work collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the School Mission and Vision.
• Additional duties as requested by the Principal.
