Job Summary

ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER
ABOUT YOU:
This role manages a smaller product or subset of a product category under the supervision of a Sr. Product Manager to design and implement comprehensive product development and marketing strategies for a given Jostens product category or categories. This includes identifying market trends running reports for pricing and sales data identifying possible market strategies with their manager running reports for new and existing product development working with marketing to provide needed product/information to develop promotional collateral and activities and collaborating with other Jostens functions (sales IT finance factories marketing).
YOU WILL:
  • Product Manager Support.Run sales reports on new product initiatives for leadership review. Review product trends with the product team. Assist in the activity of pulling together information for reviewing product line effectiveness impact and profitability.
  • Product Development.Monitor and make recommendations for assigned product portfolios and contribute to the overall product strategy for the business. Work with sourcing to manage communication of product specs inspecting product submissions. Provide project management for select product development/marketing initiatives assisting in the integrated implementation across channels and disciplines.
  • Sales Support.Provide assistance and problem resolution around product/product marketing policy and procedures. Provide support to the sales force and customer service to ensure that problems issues or questions are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Cross-Functional Team Support.Participate in cross-functional meetings consisting of marketing sales finance operations IT and creative that have accountability for developing and implementing the growth strategies for the business.
YOU HAVE:
  • Experience.1 - 2 years ofbusiness experience in product line development management and and experience in managing products product life cycles and the marketing mix (4Ps).Understanding of integrated on/offline marketing strategies including catalog online and retail channel approaches.
  • Education.BA/BS in Business/Marketing/Product Development or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Passion.An excitement for product and an eye for design especially within fashion jewelry/accessories or lifestyle/gifting and seeks diversity in thought perspective and presence for thebest possible solutions and to maximize and leverage internal resources to meet plan objectives.
  • Technical Skills.Working level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs pivot tables etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign and Illustrator). Preferred familiarity with PLM systems or merchandising tools is a and project management skills.
  • Attention to Detail.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Preferred strong visual and creative sensibility with a commercial mindset.
  • Great Communication Skills.Ability to communicate with business interpersonal skills team-oriented and ability to work across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Typical/Expected % of Overnight Travel. Up to 5% annually.
