The Supply Chain officer will be report to Supply Chain supervisors as directed by Supply Chain manager and Deputy Manager will also deputies for a higher grade officer as required.
Overview of Role:Key Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain throughout the Hospital awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all Hospital activities.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Values of the Hospital
- Operate any systems of internal check necessary to safeguard the assets of the Hospital and assure the reliability of records.
- Participate in the operation and development of the Hospitals Computerised Supply Chain Systems.
- Ensure that operational processes are implemented to the standards of best practice in order to optimism use of resources and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Co-operate and work with other sections and staff in the Supply Chain Management Department to ensure that the development and performance reaches the highest standard possible.
- Strive for excellence in customer service.
- Co-operate with other departments and relevant committees by providing information relating to Supply chain management procedures that will assist in the achievement of value for money throughout the Hospital.
Specific Accountability- Co-ordinate and maintain all procedures and records relating to the day to day operation of the Hospitals Supply chain management function.
- Operate any systems of internal check necessary to safeguard the assets of the Hospital and assure the reliability of records.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all inventory supply chain management transactions are accounted for and that accurate records are maintained.
- To manage stock and non-stocked products throughout the organisation and all process and systems relating to requisitioning issuing receipt of goods filing administration duties.
- All processes and systems relating to the supply chain and for such issues with use of all technology made available.
- Ensure that stores premises services and inventory are maintained in proper condition and take all appropriate measures and precautions to prevent deterioration misuse misappropriation or loss of goods.
- Liaise with or carry out duties as directed within all sections of the Supply Chain Management Department to ensure goods or services are available to meet customer requirements.
- To assist with the organisation & Management of the administration office customer services & phone lines.
- To analysis review and forecast all aspects of Supply chain management within the organisation.
- Lead co-ordinate and direct the work of staff under your supervision.
- Deputies for a higher grade officer as required.
- Carry out all clerical and administrative duties appropriate to the position.
- Carry out any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Report to and be accountable to the Supply Chain Manager and/or other such officer as may be directed.
- To operate control and manage Kan Ban systems consignment systems. Patient level costing systems SAP material management system and managed services orders from suppliers.
- To comply with organisations Time & Attendance systems.
Qualifications & Experience requiredMust have:- Have achieved a good standard of general education to Leaving Certificate.
- Knowledge of scanning products through barcoding and Kan ban systems.
- Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft excel and word with excellent keyboard skills.
- Have worked in a large Supply Chain environment for 1 years or more.
- Key knowledge of warehouse operations picking packing delivering reordering.
- Fluent command and understanding of the English language to include spoken and written word.
Desirable:- Further education Diploma or certificate in the supply chain field.
- Certificate in Microsoft office.
Reward & Recognition- Remuneration is in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales -1st Marchincl. 2 LSIs.
- This appointment is full time permanent and pensionable.
A panel may be formed for temporary and permanent posts.
- The annual leave entitlement is 27 working days per year. The leave year runs from 1st April to the 31st of March each year.
- Normal working hours are 35 worked over 5 days. Your contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm over 7 days to meet the requirements for extended day services in accordance with the terms of the Framework Agreement.
