What you will be doing:
You will be the lead Public Health Nurse in the Homer Public Health Clinic. You will independently deliver a full spectrum of public health nursing services to villages and rural communities. Youll use a holistic approach that includes individual community and systems-based care. This position is based at the Homer Public Health Center. Homer is a beautiful coastal community in South Central Alaska and is on the road system. Occasional travel by small boat or plane may be required.
Valid Alaska Registered Nurse License at time of hire per Alaska Nurse Practice Act: Nursing Statutes AS 09.68 Nursing Regulations 12 AAC 44.
Valid Drivers License.

Minimum Qualifications:

Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska;

AND

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university;

AND

Any combination of additional education certification and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Advanced post-secondary education in nursing public health healthcare services healthcare administration or a closely related field that includes masters level study in nursing and/or public health;

AND/OR

Professional experience in public health community health international health and/or occupational health nursing.

Special Notes:
Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska and requisite knowledge skills and abilities may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however proof of RN licensure will be required prior to appointment and reporting for duty.

Proof of Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis (Tdap) Mumps Measles Rubella (MMR) and Varicella immunizations.
Proof of Hepatitis B (immunity or a signed declination statement).
Annual influenza vaccination or a signed declination statement.
Proof of Tuberculosis screening within the past 12 months.
A copy of your current Alaska Registered Nurse license.
A copy of your current drivers license.
