Description

The Nursing Operations Project Manager provides strategic and operational project management support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and nursing leadership team. This role is responsible for driving initiatives that enhance nursing operations optimize workflows and ensure regulatory compliance. The Nursing Operations Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating cross-functional efforts tracking performance metrics and supporting quality improvement and infection prevention programs within the nursing division.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Program Coordination & Strategic Support
    1. Collaborate with the CNO to plan implement and monitor strategic projects across the nursing division.
    2. Develop operational plans policies and SOPs in alignment with organizational goals.
    3. Track and report on project progress ensuring timelines compliance and deliverables are met.
    4. Act as liaison across departments to support cohesive nursing operations.
    5. Maintain program documentation dashboards and performance metrics.
  2. Administrative & Executive Support
    1. Support nursing leadership with agenda development meeting documentation and project follow-ups.
    2. Draft project reports presentations and correspondence on behalf of nursing leadership.
    3. Ensure timely execution of key operational and quality improvement initiatives.
    4. Manage timelines and follow-ups for critical nursing division initiatives ensuring accountability.
    5. Facilitate the implementation of quality improvement and compliance initiatives.
  3. Data Management & Compliance
    1. Collect analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to nursing workflows staffing and patient outcomes.
    2. Assist with regulatory and accreditation readiness including audit documentation.
    3. Recommend process improvements based on performance and compliance data.
    4. Support quality improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
  4. Communication & Liaison Role
    1. Serve as primary project contact for nursing leadership across clinical and administrative departments.
    2. Represent the division in cross-departmental meetings to ensure project continuity.
    3. Support workforce development through onboarding and professional development planning.
  5. Project Management & Process Improvement
    1. Lead and coordinate projects focused on clinical operations patient safety and staff engagement.
    2. Identify areas for operational improvement and assist with implementing best practices.
    3. Manage feedback collection tools and performance evaluation processes
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2 years of Project Management experience
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Access and other web-based applications.
  • Required to produce complex documents perform analysis and maintain databases.
  • Must be highly organized and able to interact with individuals from very diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health centers hospital and/or academic administration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds and load onto shelves.

  • Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers.
  • Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff patients families and external customers.
  • Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.
  • Teamwork: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact on the operations of one or more departments.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients visitors staff and external customers in a professional service-oriented respectful manner using skills in active listening
