About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design develop and scale robust backend systems and APIs. You will be responsible for building high-performance backend services data pipelines and API integrations ensuring they are secure scalable and maintainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python (3.7) and FastAPI.
- Implement asynchronous processing background tasks and dependency injection within FastAPI.

Integrate OpenAPI/Swagger documentation for all backend endpoints.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend systems and third-party services handling versioning error responses and edge cases.
- Build and optimize data models in relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL and work with NoSQL systems like MongoDB.
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines for bulk data ingestion transformation validation and deduplication to ensure master data integrity.
- Work on real-time data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka or similar tools.
- Deploy monitor and scale services on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
- Containerize services using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes.

Set up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Collaborate with frontend DevOps and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Python (3.7) with experience in type annotations asynchronous programming and scripting.

Proven experience building scalable backend services using FastAPI.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL MySQL and MongoDB including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience designing and managing ETL pipelines and real-time data streaming systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure) and infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency with Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
- Strong debugging performance optimization and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Knowledge of microservices architecture.

Familiarity with message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ Amazon SQS).

Experience with security best practices (OAuth2 JWT rate limiting).
