Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a local authority in Ashfield to assist with the appointment of a Housing Officer on a 5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 20.75 - 26.54 per hour

Summary:

Ashfield District Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Housing Officer to provide a high-quality housing management service to tenants leaseholders and residents. The postholder will be responsible for tenancy management estate inspections rent arrears anti-social behaviour casework and ensuring that homes and communities are safe well-managed and sustainable. This role requires excellent communication skills a strong customer service ethos and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a patch of properties ensuring effective tenancy and estate management in line with Council policies.
  • Conduct estate inspections identifying issues such as repairs maintenance health and safety and environmental concerns and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Investigate and resolve cases of anti-social behaviour (ASB) working closely with tenants residents police and other agencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely case management and record-keeping using housing management systems
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Essentials:

  • Experience in housing management tenancy management or customer service in a housing-related role.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation tenancy law and best practice in tenancy and estate management.
