Doctoral Researcher (f/m/x)

Medizinische Statistik und Bioinformatik TV-L: 385 h/week (100%)

initially limited for 3 years according to WissZeitVG Drittmittel

Your tasks

  • Research in the field of statistical method development
  • Application of the newly developed methods to data sets from various medical fields
  • Writing of scientific publications
  • Participation and presentation of research results at national and international conferences

Your profile

  • Applicants are required to hold a scientific university degree (e.g. master diploma or equivalent) in mathematics statistics or a related field
  • Knowledge of a statistical programming language (e.g. R Python) is an advantage
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • A strong interest in medical applications is desirable however knowledge in these fields is not required

Your future in detail

The position is affiliated with the (Prof. Dr. Kathrin Mllenhoff) at the Institute of Medical Statistics and Computational Biology at the University of Cologne. As part of the project Analysing clinical time-to-event data under non-proportional hazards funded by the DFG the aim is to develop statistical methodology with application to medical data.
