This is fixed term opportunity to cover maternity leave for a period of up to 20 weeks commencing on 29 September 2025. This role can be based anywhere withinEssential Energys operational footprint.

About the role

As a Data Analyst youll play a key part in supporting our organisations data-driven decision making. Youll provide expert data management analysis and advice to ensure the quality accuracy and accessibility of our data. Acting as a bridge between business and technology teams youll help foster a data-driven culture and translate complex data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and manage data requirements for stakeholders documenting and updating as needed.
  • Source collate analyse and interpret complex datasets presenting findings to key business stakeholders.
  • Establish modify and maintain data structures using data analysis design modelling and quality assurance techniques.
  • Design and implement data extraction and translation scripts to support data quality migration integration and reporting.
  • Promote a data-driven culture and support the improvement of data literacy across the organisation.

About You

You are an analytical thinker with a passion for turning data into meaningful insights. You have a strong background in data management analysis and reporting ideally within the energy sector or a similar asset-intensive environment. Your technical expertise is matched by your ability to communicate complex information clearly and build effective relationships with stakeholders.

  • Extensive experience in a similar professional role preferably in the energy industry or asset management.
  • Proven ability to use a variety of data extraction manipulation and visualisation tools.
  • Strong skills in SQL and the ability to work with structured semi-structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • An Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or equivalent experience/qualifications.
