As a Mechanical Engineer Intern with JLG you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and skilled Engineers in the this role you will work on a variety of key projects and initiatives ranging from simple tasks to more complex analytical projects.
YOUR IMPACT
Design model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with a JLGs.
Research and execute on continuous improvement request (CIRs) to support manufacturing supply chain and customer feedback/operations.
Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (i.e. Creo Parametric)
Create and manage ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.
Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype pilot or production build and provide technical assistance.
Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution stress analysis performance estimations etc.
Consult with suppliers customers and internal departments to find solutions to problems.
Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Student working towards a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering field.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Good oral and written communication skills.
Previous internship experience or work-related experience.
Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.
Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements (SAE teams etc..)
Experience using Creo Parametric Pro-E CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus.
Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles
Knowledge of construction industry and equipment used.
Strong mechanical aptitude
WORKING CONDITIONS
The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.
This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments.
In the office setting tasks may require extended computer use sitting and attending meetings.
Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors standing moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) climbing stairs and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
