Position: Administrative Assistant for Benefits/Human Resources

Location: Central Office

Pay: $60000 - $65000

Hours: Full-time/ 12 months

Organizational Scope:

This position will support the Human Resource Department and will be responsible foradministeringand monitoring all benefits for the District.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages benefits for all employees and retirees including but not limited to health dental vision life disability 403bs etc.
  • Onboarding of new hire benefits.
  • Auditing insurance bills monthly.
  • Processing retiree insurance billing.
  • Recalculating insurance deductions with payroll as needed.
  • Billing employees on leave for premiums.
  • Receiving/processing insurance payments.
  • Resolving issues with benefit providers.
  • Oversee benefit wellness programs for the district.
  • Medicaid reporting assistance.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Oversee annual open enrollment for all current employees and retirees.
  • Workers compensation processing.
  • Maintain highly confidential files including but not exclusive to employee records.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy and consistency of database and records.
  • Maintain employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Assist Director with various projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Business Administration Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working for municipalities or within a union environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage them effectively.
  • Experience in using Google workspace Microsoft products Munis Powerschool Schoolspring etc.
  • Experience working in an HR environment preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
