Chickering Elementary School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher Starting Date: Immediately Potential End Date: December 23 2025 This is a Maternity Leave coverage beginning immediately. A successful candidate must have a Masters degree and experience providing individualized instruction across academic social and behavioral domains. Competency and experience in administering standardized and criterion-referenced assessments developing IEPs and monitoring student progress are essential. Effective strategies for optimal student engagement and facilitating accommodations and modifications to support student access within the general education classroom are imperative. Responsibilities: - Conducts standardized and informal assessments- Effective use of strategies and knowledge of pedagogy to teach students with disabilities communication skills both with staff and parents.-Serves as a case manager for students with disabilities. Cultural proficiency and responsiveness Qualifications - Masters Degree in Special EducationLicensure in Moderate Disabilities Wilson Reading Certification preferred but not required. Experience and/or training in administering interpreting and reporting on diagnostic assessments. Experience writing IEP goals and objectives. Knowledge of inclusive education both practically and philosophically. Strength in team building and management.
