Working 36.5 hours per week

We are seeking organised and customer-focused Licensing Officers to join our Private Rented Sector Licensing team within City this role you will manage your own caseload process licence applications efficiently and provide first-line support to tenants and landlords. Youll maintain accurate records contribute to service improvements and support compliance investigations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fast-paced environments strong communication and IT skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A flexible proactive approach and commitment to equal opportunities are essential.

What youll do

  • Process licence applications for private rented properties efficiently and within statutory timescales.
  • Act as the first point of contact for tenants and landlords offering clear and legally accurate advice.
  • Maintain accurate records registers and statistics to support licensing operations.
  • Assist Compliance and Investigations Officers by ensuring data is correctly recorded and up to date.
  • Contribute to service improvements and customer satisfaction through a proactive quality-focused approach.
  • Identify and escalate concerns related to fraud safety domestic abuse and safeguarding.
  • Work independently and collaboratively demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in using databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to manage workload independently and adapt to change.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.
  • Confident using IT systems including Office 365.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
