Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) as a Business Process this role you will support the design and improvement of key data governance processes including regulatory compliance metadata management and data quality monitoring. Youll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive lean automated and efficient process design while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the financial services industry while developing expertise in enterprise data governance process design and regulatory data practices.
What will you do
Assist in documenting analyzing and optimizing business processes related to:
Regulatory data compliance (e.g. OSFI E-21 OSFI E-23)
Metadata lifecycle management
Data quality assessment and issue remediation workflows
Collaborate with data stewards compliance officers IT and business units to gather requirements and map current/future-state processes
Support efforts to automate manual tasks through workflow tools and automation platforms
Contribute to development of process documentation SOPs and user guides
Participate in continuous improvement efforts using Lean process design
Monitor key data governance KPIs and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights
Research and evaluate processes based on data governance regulations frameworks and industry standards
What do you need to succeed
- Foundational understanding or interest in data governance principles (metadata data quality data ownership)
- Interest or coursework in regulatory frameworks such as GDPR OSFI HIPA or SOX
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to process modeling tools (e.g. Visio Lucidchart) is a plus
- Familiarity with Data Governance Collibra and Informatica Data Quality tools or willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL or data analysis tools is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A mindset for efficiency simplification and continuous improvement
- Adaptable comfortable with ambiguity and ability to operate in a matrix environment
- Strong communication skills; ability to share information in a timely manner
- Able to express ideas thoughts and information clearly
- Innovative and looks for new and sometimes unconventional approaches
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships across teams departments and divisions
- Able to gather information by applying approaches or styles applicable to the situation
- Able to prepare and clearly present information transfer knowledge clearly and effectively
- Takes ownership of assigned project deliverables plans activities to ensure delivery by agreed upon due dates
- Can write clearly and concisely able to present data and statistics in various formats to meet audience needs for understanding and decision making

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
