Strict new European Union medical regulations are putting healthcare manufacturers and laboratories at risk. Many lack the knowledge and resources to stay compliantthreatening closures limiting diagnostic options and ultimately compromising the quality of care patients receive.
This is where Platomics steps in. We are connecting and synchronizing Healthcare to Improve Patient Life by building innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with existing healthcare ecosystems turning complex regulatory compliance into a fast straightforward process.

We are seeking a VP of Engineering to join this mission.
We are a distributed team and aim to create opportunities for people to come together in person. Our headquarters are in Vienna Austria and while we are open to remote candidates presence in Vienna is highly preferred.
The Role
Your mission is to help bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and accessible healthcare. By leading our engineering divisionspanning both development and information technologiesyou will transform regulatory compliance from a barrier into an enabler ensuring that critical medical treatments and diagnostics remain available to patients across Europe.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and system design to coding testing deployment and maintenance.
- Efficiently allocate resources including personnel budgets and technology to optimize the development and architectural process as well as meet product timelines and goals.
- Identify potential risks in software development including technical operational and compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Enable an engineering division of highly skilled engineers to build a platform that changes the regulatory landscape all across Europe.
- Invest in the professional and personal growth of all members of your team individual contributors and team leads alike.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical partners and explain business direction to the engineering team in a way that guides and inspires them.
- Guide the team through critical technical decisions and strategically balance immediate and long-term work with technical debt.
What you bring to the table
- 5 years of overseeing engineering teams and strategic technology decisions to ensure technical capabilities are aligned with Platomicss company goals
- 10 years of enterprise software development experience and have a strong understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycles and technical architecture/system design
- Strong Understanding of cloud / cloud native and Artificial Intelligence (AI) landscapes
- Good understanding of the Med-Tech/Bio-Tech/Health-Tech domain
- Have a pragmatic approach when making technical decisions and believes empowering product culture that is all about outcome over output while not losing sight of the long-term impact of your decisions
- Ability to create and support a collaborative and dynamic work environment for teams to thrive in
