About the role: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a hybrid role working both as a PTA and Fitness Provider. The PTA supports clients in physical and mental health recovery working 1:1 with individuals to provide rehabilitation and personal training that is fully customized to the clients needs following Ascent Wellness Program principles to provide accessible and inclusive wellness services.Interventions may include: manual therapy basic fitness education exploration of natural & pain-free movement exercises for overall physical mobility and joint health movement for self-regulation workout & home practice planning stretching/self-massage muscular endurance and strength-training cardiovascular activity outdoor activity and tours of local fitness spaces (e.g. recreation centers gyms dance studios etc.). Services are delivered on-site in-home or in community locations outdoors and/or via telehealth according to client needs. Travel is required.
Job Qualifications:
- PREFERRED: A relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science kinesiology or other areas related to the profession.
- REQUIRED: Experience as a personal trainer. A Personal Training Certification (e.g. ACE or NASM CPT) is required if the candidate does not have a degree as listed above.
- REQUIRED: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Wisconsin.
- REQUIRED: A valid WI drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for travel to in-home appointments and occasional client transportation to/from sessions within Milwaukee County.
- Excellent professional communication and customer service skills is required.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organization and time management skills is required.
- Professional work experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.
- Professional work experience related to mental health and healthcare is a plus.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.

Hours and pay: This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 32 hours per week. Typical working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
With a Bachelors degree related to the role: $57000 per year base salary with the potential to earn up to $65000 in the first year with additional commission and bonus opportunities.
Without a Bachelors degree related to the role: $52000 per year base salary with the potential to earn up to $57000 in the first year with additional commission and bonus opportunities.
