Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system UChicago Medicine as an Evaluation Project Coordinator in our Community Health department. This position will be primarily a work from home opportunity with the requirement to come onsite as needed. You may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area.

The University of Chicago Medicines Urban Health Initiative (UHI) is committed to meeting the health needs of Chicagos South Side communities. It assesses community health needs manages strategies (e.g. programs partnerships) to respond to these needs and measures impacts on the community. As part of UChicago Medicines Level 1 adult trauma care center the Violence Recovery Program (VRP) is a hospital-based violence intervention program working to build a Violence Recovery Model for survivors of intentional violence and their families. The UHI oversees the VRP the Violence Recovery Model and is responsible for evaluation of the program model. The evaluation project coordinator will coordinate and implement the monitoring and evaluation processes for the Violence Recovery Program. *This role is a flexible remote position that requires occasional onsite visits to our Hyde Park campus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support end-to-end monitoring and evaluation process for the Violence Recovery Program by supporting data collection activities conducting data integration processes monitoring program implementation and drafting reports and presentations of findings
  • Execute monitoring and evaluation plans in collaboration with the VRP Program Manager and Epidemiologist
  • Develop data collection instruments and training manuals/materials and train frontline staff on their use
  • Create and update program databases support uptake of data collection systems and monitor data quality
  • Support performance monitoring and program improvement by reviewing data with the program team on a regular basis
  • Support program development including building logic models theories of change and strategic framework
  • Conduct performance and impact evaluations through questionnaire development key informant in-depth interviewing managing survey data collection reviewing data preparing datasets analyzing quantitative or qualitative data and report writing
  • Contribute to overall project reporting requirements as per grant agreements. This might entail and not be limited to quarterly and weekly reports evaluation and case studies success stories etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in public health public policy research methods evaluation social science or a related field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience designing monitoring and evaluating programs or research studies preferably in the health sector
  • Experience writing findings and recommendations in assessment or evaluation reports
  • Experience with quantitative data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical software (i.e. SAS R Stata SPSS)
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to speak articulately in high-level forums and to answer difficult questions with confidence
  • Requires prior experience managing multiple large projects and working effectively in multidisciplinary groups
  • Must be self-motivated: given appropriate direction for goals must be able to work autonomously in a sometimes ambiguous and changing environment
  • Maintains strong working relationships with the faculty and staff of the Medical Center community partners and the UHI staff. Must have a good sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using REDCap or other similar tools
  • Experience with qualitative research methods
  • Experience with training and other capacity building activities
  • Familiar with data visualization tools (Tableau Power BI)
  • Past experience working with clinicians

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
