Early Years Consultant for Inclusion

Working 36.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Grade 4 officer to work within the Early Years Childcare Service. You will be an experienced Early Years professional with support and advisory skills in childcare and early years education services. You will have a sound understanding of early education and childcare policy practice and the relevant legislative frameworks.
The role will: Provide professional support services to all childcare providers to meet the Local Authority statutory duties in respect of the Equality Duty 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years (2015). Working in partnership with all key stakeholders to improve inclusion and childrens outcomes for settings inspected by Ofsted.
You will work within a team that focuses on promoting equality diversity and inclusion across the early years and childcare sector. You will support advise and question settings around removing barriers to access of Early Education Entitlement and childcare places for children and families. You will work with providers to improve services particularly for disadvantaged families looked after children children in need and children with special educational needs and disabilities. You will promote and monitor the take-up of additional early years funding streams such as Disability Access Funding and Early Years Pupil Premium to early years settings parents and professionals to inform ongoing work plans.
The role will also support the planning and assessment of continuous professional development (CPD) needs relating to inclusion diversity and equality for the childcare workforce and employees within the Early Years & Childcare Service.
