Compensation: $28.87 to $34.41 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Location: This position is 100% in-person located at 1560 Berger Drive San Jose CA 95112. Some presence may be required
atourother location at 2650 Senter Road San Jose CA 95111.
Travel: Local travel between job sites may be required up to 50% of the time.
About the San Jose Conservation Corps (SJCCCS):
One of the first urban Conservation Corps in the country the San Jose Conservation Corps Charter School (SJCCCS) was founded in 1987 to empower young adults aged 18 to 27 (Corpsmembers) to upskill themselves and advance their career in conservation and green spaces. Today SJCCCS continues to operate its 1-year-long paid workforce development program while also functioning as a WASC-accredited charter high school allowing those who have aged out of the traditional education system to earn their high school diploma.

About the Position:
The Corps Futures Coordinator is responsible for supporting Corpsmembers with career exploration and development through career readiness workshops postsecondary program events and sharing about opportunities. Conducting monthly check-ins with Corpsmembers in order to support Education Award review career development and pathway interest. As Corpsmembers transition to their desired pathway Corps Futures coordinators will conduct follow up meetings to verify placement and successful completion.
In addition to strong communication and organizational skills the Corps Futures Coordinator should be able to maintain professionalism at all times while working with various department staff (such as job-training charter school etc.) and external partners. Corps Futures Coordinator should have prior experience in training development facilitation youth development postsecondary education data tracking time management critical thinking and public speaking.

What to Expect:
Position may require prolonged sitting standing walking reaching twisting turning kneeling bending squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard. The incumbent may be required to drive a vehicle up to 35% of the time. The position may require the incumbent to occasionally lift up to 25lbs. Additionally the position requires far and near vision when driving reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal nature of the work may require the incumbent to work evenings weekends and of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

Employment At-Will Statement:
The San Jose Conservation Corps Charter School is an At-Will employer. This means that employment with SJCCCS is voluntarily entered into and staff members are free to resign at any time. Similarly SJCCCS may terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without cause or prior notice as it deems appropriate. This at-will employment relationship can be changed only in a written agreement signed by the staff member and the Executive Director of SJCCCS.
**SJCCCS IS A MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION EMPLOYER**
All new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination absent an approved medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. If a new hire is in the process of being vaccinated their start date may be adjusted to a future date after they have been vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means at it has been at least two weeks since the person has completed the entire recommended initial series of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Minimum Qualifications
Driving Record and Requirements: The incumbent of this position will be required to drive company vehicles and must submit a copy of their DMV drivers record as a condition of hire. The candidate also must possess and continue to maintain a valid California Class C drivers license and a clean driving record acceptable to the organizations auto insurance company.
Employment Eligibility: Federal law requires all employees to provide verification of their eligibility to work in the United States. Please be informed that San Jose Conservation Corps Charter School will NOT sponsor represent or sign any documents related to visa applications/transfers for H1-B or any other type of visa which requires an employer application.
Medical Verification: State law requires all employees working with youth to provide medical verification of negative tuberculosis test results within the last year. Employees will also be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Background Check and Fingerprinting: If the position is offered and accepted candidates will be required to undergo Live Scan Fingerprinting as well as a background check which includes a state and federal criminal history record check.
Drug Screen: If the position is offered and accepted candidates will be required to undergo and pass a 5-panel drug screen.
