POSITION TITLE: ARD Facilitator - CTE Program
EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Career & Technical Education
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months - Part-Time/Temporary
Primary Purpose
Serve as the Career & Technical Education representative in Annual Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings. Coordinate with CTE teachers to collect information relevant to the ARD meeting and present appropriate courses relevant to the students career goals and the districts CTE Program of Study offerings.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements in Career & Technical Education
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of state and federal laws for educating students with disabilities
Understanding of the individual needs of students with disabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff
Ability to implement policies and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of teaching students in the CTE program and participation in ARD meetings
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Schedule or assist in scheduling ARD meetings and assist with establishing an agenda setting the time allotted for the meeting and establishing a set of guidelines for the meeting.
- Attend ARD meetings to serve as the representative for CTE programs and provide informed input.
- Collect student progress updates from CTE teachers and share with the ARD Committee.
- Participate in ongoing training to remain current with the districts CTE Programs of Study and course requirements to ensure accurate representation of course offerings in ARD Meetings.
Instructional Support
- Provide support to the districts CTE program in the areas of technical dual credit and career and technical student organizations as needed.
- Provide support for CTE teachers with an industry background and that are new to the teaching profession as needed.
- Use coaching skills to support staff build capacity and provide technical assistance as needed.
Communication and Community Relations
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with principals teachers staff and parents through representation in ARD meetings and by supporting innovation and efforts in educating CTE students.
- Articulate the districts mission and goals and solicit support in realizing the mission of the district and the CTE program.
- Policy Reports and Law
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents as required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy. Make recommendations to improve program effectiveness.

- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard classroom equipment computer peripherals electronic devices
Posture: Prolonged sitting/standing frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling twisting
Motion: Frequent walking; frequent repetitive hand motions keyboarding use of mouse wrist flexion/extension
Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance 30-55 pounds with assistance and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
Environment: Work inside and outside; regular exposure to noise; occasional exposure to contagious diseases
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruption
