Job Summary
Summary
The Design Engineer create draft size and design severe service valves and schemes considering customer specifications internal design/engineering standards and international/national codes and standards.
Design Engineers are an essential part of the product realization process as they provide the main documentation package for manufacturing testing and assembling.
Responsibilities/Main Tasks
- Design and optimization of mechanical components for severe service valves based on IMI CCI internal engineering standards.
- Develop manufacturing drawings bills of material and related specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards and IMI CCI internal design/manufacturing standards
- Flow- and thermodynamic valve sizing utilizing IMI CCI specific multistep technology
- Analysis of mechanical systems: stress vs. fatigue calculation for high pressure and high temperature boundaries (including structural analyses utilizing Finite Element if applicable) vibration and acoustic.
- Interface coordination valve vs. actuator.
- Coordination with third parties (outside vendors Notified Body) for components selection manufacturing and assembly.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Profile/Qualifications
Minimum Education Level . or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Primary Language Requirement: English
Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred); Finite Element Method (FEM) desired
Proficient in MS Office and Product Data Management environment
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Creative approach for generating new ideas
Excellent grasp of mechanical engineering and design principles
Basic knowledge of applicable pressure vessel codes
Understanding of manufacturing processes and design methods
Good team working behavior
Awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors
Background in industrial valve design or industrial plant building preferred
