Literacy Interventionist One Year Position

Millers Run School announces the hiring of a Literacy Intervention teacher. Candidates must be dynamic high quality literacy leaders interested in joining a high energy developing professional learning community. Responsibilities include both delivering explicit literacy intervention to small groups of students and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to build a comprehensive literacy program. This literacy intervention teacher partners with classroom teachers in delivering researched based programing through flexible groupings and ongoing formative assessment to monitor students progress in reading and writing. The individual will work closely with school and district level literacy coaches and school literacy specialists. Experience with the workshop model science of reading strategies and resources are a priority. Knowledge of the use of UFLI and the Bookworms programs depth understanding of early literacy skills evidence based interventions and assessments are required. Familiarity with the Common Core PLC collaboration and positive behavior interventions are critical. We seek creative passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people while supporting teachers in building a comprehensive literacy program. The pay range for this position is currently $44232-$ Run School is part of the Kingdom East School District located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal Boston and Portland ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing hiking mountain biking fishing canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton NH and St. Johnsbury VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
