Quality Engineer

The Company:

PacAeros core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the worlds most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee WA with a remote manufacturing site Bonded Metals located in Sequim WA. Working together we employ proprietary technologies best practices engineering and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the worlds most extreme environments. PacAeros products are hard at work in medical components such as cardiac-function devices on key aerospace & defense programs in space and deep below the earths surface.

Primary Responsibilities

• Quality Management System (QMS) maintenance
• Assist Quality manager in establishing implementing and maintaining the QMS
• Continual improvement activities to enhance the QMS
• Create and maintain company quality documentation (Quality Manual QPs AWPs SOPs etc.)
• Continuously improve all QA inspection processes and procedures
• Planning organizing and managing the overall activities of Receiving In-process and Final Inspection functions. This also includes product qualification testing
• Preparation and review of completed QA documents and reports (In-Process and Final Inspection reports AS9102 first article reports Key Characteristic data reports etc.)
• Process and Final Inspection reports AS9102 first article reports Key Characteristic data reports etc.)
• Interface with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure transfer of new products to Production is in accordance with internal and customer requirements
• Assist Engineering in analyzing failures corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints
• Accompany customers during audits and/or visits as necessary
• Ensure timely response to customer audit findings and customer corrective action requests for noncompliant product or other issues
• Schedule and coordinate customer source inspection activities
• Develop training to build quality awareness throughout the company
• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the QMS
• Conduct internal and process audits including closing out audit findings creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
• Assist Purchasing and Quality Manager in managing suppliers performance
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure corrective actions and preventive actions
• Review and approve disposition of NCRs as QA representative of MRB
• Review and approve production order routings (BOM revisions inspection operations inspection reports etc.)
• Review quotes and customer contracts ensuring that all quality requirements are identified and special requirements are noted (includes identifying risk and taking exception to requirements that cannot be verified)
• Review and approve RFPCs (request for planning changes)
• Field customer calls and emails regarding quality issue and complaints
• Complete and submit customer waiver requests for noncompliant product as required
• Assist Engineering with submitting customer drawing/specification change requests
• Work cooperatively with all employees
• Willing to adapt work schedule to company needs

• Comprehend and follow all parts handling requirements
• Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to management personnel
• Follow daily clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality safety and work related rules and regulations
• Legible handwriting
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Willing to work with hazardous chemicals
• GD&T certification (PA&E provided)
• Seek out duties to ensure you and those in your area are consistently productive
• Must be able to consistently meet or exceed company minimum labor efficiency rate
• Strong independent thinking with the ability to proactively identify problems
• Requires very minimal to no supervision to perform everyday tasks
• Ability to advise management of policy violations
• Identify and support process improvements
• Complete understanding of company processes and the global affects of process deviation
• Ability to effectively train other employees
• Able to assess and report on training effectiveness
• Affirmatively and effectively support company/managements decisions

Desired

• Basic understanding of blue print reading and/or GD&T
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Good problem solving skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and make independent observations regarding the tasks at hand
• Ability to grasp new concepts without extreme repetition
• Ability to explain/define problems or issues clearly

Education & Experience

• High school graduate or GED Equivalent
• 3 years of quality related experience required
