CAD/BIM Technologist Vancouver BC (Full-Time Permanent)
A growing employee-owned engineering consultancy specializing in water infrastructure planning and design is seeking a full-time CAD/BIM Technologist to join its team in Vancouver BC. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of public and private sector water and wastewater infrastructure projects working alongside a collaborative team of engineers and technologists. This on-site position offers flexible work-from-home options.
Must Haves
- Diploma in Civil Environmental or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a CAD certificate with equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a civil consulting environment
- Demonstrated expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit for design and drafting
- Proven ability to create and manage CAD standards templates and workflows
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Comfortable working in a collaborative fast-paced team environment
Nice to Haves
- Valid driver s license with access to a personal or shared vehicle
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Registration eligibility with ASTTBC or equivalent technical body
- Knowledge of Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) standards and CAD templates
- Previous involvement in water infrastructure projects such as pump stations sewer systems or stream restoration
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality engineering drawings using Autodesk tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D Revit)
- Lead drafting efforts on multidisciplinary water infrastructure projects
- Oversee drawing package quality control and ensure compliance with internal standards
- Develop and manage drawing templates workflows and best practices
- Collaborate with engineers and technologists from project concept to completion
- Mentor junior CAD staff and support their technical development
- Coordinate deliverables with project teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations
