Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Tech Analyst to join the Technology Organization (TO). This role is responsible for managing telecommunications inventory systemwide ensuring that capital projects and emergency restoration activities are fully supported. The analyst will oversee materials management procurement and logistics across 25 stocking locations in multiple states within the Southern Company territory.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of supply chain management while building strong internal and external business relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management:
Manage and analyze inventory at 25 stocking locations across multiple states.
Process material requests transfers issues returns and purchase order transactions in MAXIMO.
Ensure proper levels of inventory for both capital projects and emergency restoration efforts.
Procurement & Logistics:
Oversee procurement shipping receiving stocking and tracking of inventory assets at the TO Materials Distribution Center (TOMDC) in Forest Park GA.
Coordinate with internal partners external vendors and repair facilities to ensure accuracy of purchasing pricing and service delivery.
Manage the Return Authorization process for equipment repair/replacement.
Financial & Compliance Reporting:
Generate monthly reports in support of accounting requirements.
Act as Invoice Reconciler for all SCM Johnson Rd Telecom invoices.
Ensure compliance with SCS and SCM policies and procedures including Contract Guidance Manual anti-trust and other regulatory requirements.
Analysis & Process Improvement:
Track and analyze failure rates of critical telecommunications equipment.
Provide recommendations on warranty replacements repairs vs. new purchases and product lifecycle management.
Support new and changing product line requirements in coordination with TO.
Team Support & Customer Service:
Participate in After Hours On-Call rotation for the TO warehouse.
Communicate effectively across departments and management levels.
Provide high-level customer service to both internal and external partners.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college coursework or technical degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain Management (SCM) experience required.
At least 5 years of experience with TO business and materials/equipment strongly preferred.
Previous forklift or warehouse equipment experience highly preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of SCM processes internal controls and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint).
Familiarity with MAXIMO or similar ERP/inventory management systems.
Excellent analytical skills with ability to assess data and make recommendations.
Highly organized detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
