What You Will Do

The individual in the position is primarily responsible for the clinical recall patients at the School of Dental Medicine.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Current/valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois.
Current/ valid CPR Certification.

Additional Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of dental hygiene infection control procedures blood borne pathogens dental assisting dental terminology instruments and treatment procedures.
Ability to organize and perform tasks independently.
Ability to follow proper purchasing and inventory control procedures of the University and the School of Dental Medicine.
This position requires the knowledge and ability to train dental students residents and assistants in proper dental assisting and infection control methods. Requires knowledge of inventory control and sterilization methods.
Familiarity with the legal and ethical obligations related to patient care.
Must be skilled in verbal written and interpersonal communications which are critical in addressing patient faculty and student concerns in an effective and diplomatic manner.
Requires a person with self-motivation who can work effectively without direct supervision.
Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to become an expert clinical information system user.
The person employed in this position must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois and have current CPR certification prior to date of employment.
