What You Will Do

The individual in the position is primarily responsible for the clinical recall patients at the School of Dental Medicine.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Current/valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois.
  • Current/ valid CPR Certification.
Additional Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of dental hygiene infection control procedures blood borne pathogens dental assisting dental terminology instruments and treatment procedures.
  • Ability to organize and perform tasks independently.
  • Ability to follow proper purchasing and inventory control procedures of the University and the School of Dental Medicine.
  • This position requires the knowledge and ability to train dental students residents and assistants in proper dental assisting and infection control methods. Requires knowledge of inventory control and sterilization methods.
  • Familiarity with the legal and ethical obligations related to patient care.
  • Must be skilled in verbal written and interpersonal communications which are critical in addressing patient faculty and student concerns in an effective and diplomatic manner.
  • Requires a person with self-motivation who can work effectively without direct supervision.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to become an expert clinical information system user.
  • The person employed in this position must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois and have current CPR certification prior to date of employment.
