The role Te mahi
This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to join one of the premium South Island employers. As the Bar and Events Supervisor you will report directly to the Hospitality Manager University of Otago Union and oversee a diverse hospitality operation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
A hands-on leadership role for the operation of events across the university.
Planning regular and varied events.
Proactively engaging with University Departments to build strong relationships and create new business opportunities.
Ensuring that all Hospitality Services exceed the expectations of our clients.
Build and develop and be part of an initiative-taking high performing hospitality team.
Ensuring that all aspects of our services embrace and implements the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Universitys Mori and Pacific Strategic Frameworks.
Evening and weekend work will be required for this role.

We are looking for someone who has demonstrated leadership qualities working within a food and beverage position. You will be a strong communicator with proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
You will also have:
Proven ability in performing a range of tasks under competing demands meeting the agreed result within quality parameters and time frames.
Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise for the needs of the business.
Previous experience in the food service/ hospitality sectors.
Knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Knowledge of the Food Control Plan.

This is a permanent full time (40 hours) position based in tepoti Dunedin.
