What youll be responsible for:
The Health Information Management Specialist is responsible for creating processes and reports to monitor daily and weekly documentation performance for Behavioral Health clients sharing with appropriate clinical leaders and clinicians working with clients to remove obstacles to improve performance. The Specialist helps ensure the highest levels of clinical quality compliance and appropriate reimbursement by supporting timely and accurate documentation.
What youll work on:
- Build documentation tracking processes for each top-20 client to gather and report on documentation timeliness performance and share with appropriate clinical leaders to drive enhanced performance
- Create reporting tools providing visibility to operations and clinical leaders on documentation performance
- Deliver reports and information to operations and clinical leaders to enable coaching to meet performance standards
- Work with clinical teams facilities and providers to ensure compliance of healthcare information management documentation
- Respond to correspondence pertaining to medical records through all designated communication channels
- Manage and maintain database inquiries
- Identify ways to improve and promote quality and monitor own work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Responsible for weekday day-time management of Box Inbox for documentation signatures by clinicians
- Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive patient information by limiting access to the records on an as needed basis
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
What youll bring to Access TeleCare:
- Associates degree in business administration or a related field preferred; Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare setting
- Experience with HIPAA regulations
- Comfort navigating within EMR and other documentation management systems
- Previous experience developing workflows and processes
- Strong knowledge of Excel to quickly create clear and concise reports that clinical leaders can use to communicate with clinicians to improve performance
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
- Strong communications skills (written and oral) as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office programs communication and collaboration tools in various operating systems
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and self-manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to thrive in a high growth fast-paced organization and remote based environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasional travel for meetings and collaboration
