Salary Range: $20-25 an hour commensurate with experience and education
Residential Specialists are responsible for creating a positive and empathetic environment while providing residents with assistance accessing services and offering engagement opportunities. The Residential Specialist will also support the case management team in promoting client progression towards maintaining housing obtaining medical insurance increasing income and other self-sufficiency needs and engaging in activities that benefit the quality of life.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relations
- Provide encouragement and direction to residents.
- Arrange coordinate and advocate for a variety of services to meet those complex needs.
- Assist with transportation including coordinating transportation and driving residents to appointments and outings.
- Assist clients with securing food necessary supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee activities including social gatherings and basic life skill classes.
- Assist in the computer lab.
- Assist eligible residents with activities of daily living until IHSS benefits are secured.
- Assist with donations.
- Maintain a productive relationship with residents.
- Address unanticipated resident needs and issues as they arise.
Client Management
- In coordination with case managers assist clients with obtaining and completing needed documents.
- In coordination with the case manager assist clients in identifying enrolling and attending medical substance abuse and therapeutic services.
- Connect clients with partner agencies and services.
- Assist in driving and coordinating transportation for clients to necessary appointments.
- Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member that reviews client cases and develops action plans to meet each clients individual needs.
Intake Administration
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organization standards and all applicable Federal State and local laws and regulations.

- Frequent standing walking reaching lifting and stooping;
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise level including occasional offsite visits such as stadiums;

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures established in the Companys Employee Handbook. EDUCATION CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of a combined two (2) years of lived experience and at least one (1) year of practical job experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- NARCAN administration.
- Privacy training.
- Current Drivers License required.
- Maintain a clean driving record required.

- The ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision required;
- Knowledge of all applicable Federal State and local laws codes regulations and departmental policies and procedures;
- Experience with theory principles and practices of homeless housing interventions social services case management eviction prevention shelter diversion and crisis intervention;
- Knowledge of used practices and principals including Housing First Trauma-Informed Care Conflict Resolution Motivational Interviewing Low Barrier Operations and Prevention and Diversion preferred; and
- Bilingual speakers of any language preferred.
EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS
- High proficiency in MS Office including Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint and web browsing.
- Working knowledge of all standard office equipment.
