Position Summary

The Director Practice Lead will play a pivotal role in expanding a high-impact practice area within DMAs Strategic Valuation Services (SVS) group with a primary focus on data center real property evaluations. This individual will help drive innovation and excellence in property tax consulting contributing to team development performance and strategic growth in close collaboration with the SVS Managing Director and Vice President of Operations.

While the core focus is on data center reviews the Director will also support other complex property evaluations across SVS as needed. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a nationally visible practice deliver exceptional client outcomes and grow a best-in-class consulting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the recruitment and onboarding of top-tier talent to build a high-performing team

  • Provide leaderhip mentorship and guidance to team memberscoaching them toward peak performance and long-term career growth

  • Champion best practices and client service excellence across the team fostering a culture of quality and accountability

  • Align team efforts with sound financial management principles contributing to margin improvement and revenue growth from assigned client accounts

  • Support strategic planning activities including forecasting financial modeling and budgeting in partnership with SVS leadership

  • Contribute to the expansion of DMAs market presence and financial performance across offices regions and the SVS division

  • Deliver expert property tax consulting services including assessment reviews appeals and representation before state and local taxing authorities

  • Prepare and review valuation reports client communications and supporting documentation using DMAs proprietary templates and models

  • Conduct on-site inspections of client facilities to inform valuation strategies and uncover tax savings opportunities

  • Engage in business development effortsscoping customized solutions meeting with prospects and promoting DMAs full suite of services

  • Manage client relationships with a focus on trust responsiveness and long-term value

  • Represent DMA at industry events conferences and forums as a speaker panelist or thought leader to elevate brand visibility and client education

  • Assist with production tracking invoicing and internal reporting processes

  • Monitor jurisdictional deadlines and ensure timely filings appeals payments and compliance activities

  • Stay informed on market trends industry developments and legislative changes impacting property tax in assigned geographies and/or industries specifically Data Centers

  • Assist with internal training onboarding or knowledge-sharing efforts across the SVS team


Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Real Estate Finance Economics or a related field

  • 10 years professional experience; property tax valuation or accounting preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated problem-solving

  • Organizational research and interpersonal skills required

  • Proven ability to direct and manage staff

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines

  • Valid drivers license
