Bartender (Part-Time)

The Bartender is responsible for serving beverages to Center guests.

Located in downtown Tampa the Straz offers flexible hours event-based schedules including evenings and weekends and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

Essential Functions:

• Creates a friendly and welcoming environment for Center guests.
• Provides excellent customer service in a professional manner.
• Presents a neat and professional appearance in correspondence with the uniform code.
• Washes and sterilizes glassware.
• Prepares garnishes for drinks and replenishes snacks and appetizers for bar guests.
• Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters sinks utensils shelves and storage areas.
• Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Beverage Manager.
• Assists with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and some holidays.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Have working knowledge of beer wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Possess basic math skills the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
• Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to move or be in a stationary position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours per shift) traverse around the Center ascend and descend stairs reach and grasp objects using hands move/carry/transport items/objects up to 50 pounds as well as type and communicate.
