About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Emergency Department. As a key member of the leadership team you will oversee day-to-day clinical and resource management drive continuous improvement and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services you will work closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting staff development fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring compliance with best practice and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support nursing staff to deliver safe high-quality patient care.
  • Oversee daily operational management including clinical governance staffing and resource allocation.
  • Drive initiatives to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Support staff recruitment rostering and performance management.
  • Contribute to the hospitals strategic and operational objectives as part of the management team.

About You
To succeed in this role you will bring:

  • Current registration with AHPRA and relevant nursing qualifications.
  • Minimum eight years post-graduate experience with recent management experience in a hospital setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor develop and inspire clinical teams.
  • Strong financial human resource and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Highly Regarded

  • Post-graduate qualifications in management or specialty nursing.
  • Experience in surgical critical care or emergency nursing.
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation.
