Job Summary

Job Title: Assistant Boys Basketball Coach
Location:South Harrison R-IIBethany MO
Reports To: Head Boys Basketball Coach & Athletic Director

Position Overview:
South Harrisonis seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to support the development of student-athletes in our basketball program. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the game a commitment to player development and the ability to serve as a positive role model both on and off the court.

Responsibilities:

Assist the head coach in planning organizing and conducting practices and games.
Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills game strategy and sportsmanship.
Support the academic athletic and personal growth of student-athletes.
Scout opponents and help develop game plans.
Maintain a safe disciplined and positive team environment.
Collaborate with coaching staff on player development and program goals.
Assist with program logistics such as equipment travel and communication with families.
Uphold school and program expectations regarding conduct eligibility and sportsmanship.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching and/or playing experience in basketball (high school or higher preferred).
Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals game strategy and skill development.
Ability to communicate effectively with players coaches parents and school staff.
Commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork accountability and respect.
Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with high school athletes.
Ability to support strength conditioning and player development programs.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Season/Hours:

This is a seasonal stipend position requiring attendance at practices games and team events as well as some off-season commitments.
