  • 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
  • Hybrid working environment (2-3 days per week in the office)

Pro-Rata Salary Range of $85600k Base to $95k Base (dependent on experience skills and capabilities)

Plus 12% Superannuation and access to Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging with a value of up to $15900. (more information provided below).

The Global Brain Health initiative (GBHI) by TGI is a research program dedicated to improving and maintaining healthy brain function throughout life. It addresses the growing global challenge of age-related brain diseases such as dementia Alzheimers and stroke which are becoming more prevalent as populations age.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Research Assistant to be included into our team working on dementia and healthy cardiovascular ageing within a larger well-established research group. The role supports clinical trials focused on intergenerational programs that bring together older adults and preschool children to create mutual benefits for both age groups.

Our successful candidate will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify and address bias in participant recruitment and assessment and assist with conducting assessments
  • Accurately complete research tasks following study protocols including face to face assessments with older adults and preschool children in community settings
  • Attend and support intergenerational sessions assist participants and manage equipment setup and pack down
  • Enter clean and organise data using software such as Excel SPSS R or Python
  • Prepare research evidence appraisals reports presentations and summaries
  • Assist in drafting manuscripts grant proposals and conference papers
  • Conduct literature searches and support grant application preparation
  • Collate study materials and contribute to peer-reviewed journal article drafts
  • Contribute with ethics applications and related documentation
  • Provide administrative and general support to the research team as required.
