Job Summary


New Energy Equity is an end-to-end solar project development and management company focused on solar energy projects at a commercial scale. NEE leads all aspects of large scale solar projects including development financing utility interconnection engineering procurement construction management and ongoing operations and maintenance. With projects complete or underway in 11 states NEE has a national U.S. market presence and exposure to a variety of unique market trends policies and programs. NEE has built a highly regarded engineering team which supports projects during all stages of development and completion. NEE is seeking a Solar Project Development Engineer Level I to join our growing team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as technical lead for solar projects.
  • Perform site suitability investigations on site and via desktop analysis.
  • Design 100kW to 10MW solar/PV systems using AutoCAD and other tools.
  • Revise project designs as late stage diligence becomes available (wetlands delineations survey topography etc.)
  • Run production modeling using PVsyst and other tools.
  • Select equipment and product models for each system design.
  • Complete and submit utility interconnection applications.
  • Coordinate interconnection design and schedule with utility.
  • Interface with vendors EPCs and subcontractors.
  • Perform technical project management.
  • Develop track and drive project schedules.
  • Develop and track project budgets and costs.
  • Oversee system commissioning and certification.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested.
  • 25% of time traveling.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum 2 years solar industry experience; 4 year Degree in related technical field preferred; NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional preferred.
  • Experience in solar (PV) project design or project management and technical development work.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Experience in AutoCAD PVsyst and other technical software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word Adobe and Outlook and proven ability to learn new software programs
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter and naturally motivated to work hard and accomplish goals.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $65000 - $70000 encompassing base pay and potential incentive target opportunity. This range is a good faith estimate based on the positions requirements. Specific compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary depending on factors such as relevant knowledge skills training experience and market conditions.
