Job Summary
Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent high-judgement and self-motivated senior communications professional to join our Sustainability Comms Team. This individual will help drive a communication strategy for Amazons commitment to carbon-free energy investments and goals. Specifically this person would focus on comms plan development and execution including thinking big on different strategy and channel engagement. Additionally this person should act as a trusted counsel and be comfortable handling crisis communications working closely with media and advising senior leadership and executives. They should have a proven track record for leading and executing campaigns and announcements including writing press releases or blog posts working cross collaboratively across teams on various time zones and thinking big. This individual should be able to move fast with high standards be a self-starter detail oriented have the ability to dive deep on complex topics and actively look around corners.
Key job responsibilities
Create drive and execute comms strategy and campaigns for positive storytelling in support Amazon Sustainability.
Have extremely high standards and judgement with the ability to deliver strategic communications counsel to Amazon senior leaders and executives on both short-and-long-term challenges and opportunities.
Develop and leverage relationships with national business tech and sustainability focused press to generate accurate and positive coverage.
Manage external PR agencies and budgets.
Potential to act as a spokesperson on behalf of Amazon.
Successfully manage complex fast-moving and unexpected communications

Youll craft compelling press releases develop innovative communication strategies and work closely with leadership to articulate Amazons sustainability vision across multiple channels and platforms.
- 7 years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelors degree
- Outstanding judgment and decision-making abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated adaptability and agility in fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
