Job Summary

Description

Conduct armed stationary foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Control access and/or egress of personnel and vehicles. Compose reports. Deter criminal activity misconduct and breach of community rules. Perform other duties as specified in post orders.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following basic qualifications for this position:

Posses a valid Florida class D and class G license

Pass required training or other qualifications for licensing

AND

Be able to work scheduled twelve hour shifts
Have a high school diploma or GED
Able to operate in high stress situations
Not use illegal drugs. You must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment)
Be able to pass an extensive background check including criminal history personal references employment and education verifications and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks
Be able to provide upon job offer a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated if you were in the military
Be able to successfully complete all training required for the position
Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment

Demonstrate an ability to interact firmly but cordially and communicate with the public

Demonstrate the ability to pass a physical readiness test:
Run 1.5 miles in 17 minutes or less
perform 30 push-ups 2 minutes or less
perform 30 sit-ups 2 minutes or less
