Two Positions Available

Gilgunya (Coburg) and Audrey Rainsford (Carlton)

Part Time Basis

  • Competitive pay rate: $34.05 - $45.16 (depending on qualifications and experience) per hour superannuation.

  • Join our dynamic Supported Residential Service team or Community Services team
  • Part Time positions covering a range of weekday and weekend shifts
  • Two Positions available in Melbournes North One based in Residential (Coburg) and one in Community (Carlton)

Your new role

Wintringham is seeking Recreation Officers to fill two vacancies at our Community and Residential sites in Northern Melbourne.

The Community based position at our Audrey Rainsford site in Carlton offers 16 hours per fortnight with all hours being undertaken in the first work week. The roster is as below:

Week 1: Saturday & Sunday (0)

Week 2 : -

The second position is Residential and is based at our Gilgunya Residential Aged Care Home in Coburg and the roster is as below:

Week 1: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday (0) & Saturday ()

Week 2: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday (0) & Saturday ()

In either role you will assist the Recreation Coordinator to continually develop and facilitate individual recreational pursuits designed to meet the leisure needs of each client.

Within the Residential role your responsibilities and duties will include the below:

  • Assist with facilitating onsite recreation activities either with groups of residents or 1:1 as directed by the Coordinator
  • Assist with facilitating offsite recreation activities including driving the bus either groups of residents/clients or 1:1 as directed by the Coordinator
  • Ensuring clients/residents individual recreation interests are established and facilitated.
  • Encouraging clients/residents to maintain their community associations and contacts.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of accurate and relevant documentation is up to date and meets ACFI requirements.
  • Duties as directed by the Recreation Coordinator.

Within the Community role your responsibilities and duties will include the below:

  • Developing recreation programs which will assist clients to further develop their everyday living skills to promote independence
  • Being involved in regular meetings with case management staff
  • Encouraging clients to maintain their community associations and contacts
  • Promoting recreational opportunities available within the broader community
  • Facilitating activities that promote access to venues events and recreational opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate records regarding the range of activities and client participation
  • Being aware of relevant legislative standards and guidelines

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Current drivers licence (mandatory)
  • Working reliable vehicle (mandatory for Community Role)
  • Recreation Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent qualifications
  • Ability and desire to work with clients with challenging and complex needs
  • Interest in social justice issues
  • Prior experience in Homelessness Aged CareWelfare Disability Allied HealthorCommunity Care
  • Current First Aid Certificate 2 or willing to obtain to obtain
