Job Summary

Management of products and services at the Rental shop on a daily and seasonal basis for Homewood Mountain Resort. The RentalShopSupervisorsupervises and coordinatesallactivitiesinvolved in the operationsofthe Rental operations include but are not limited to; renting ski and snowboard equipment to guests performing minor maintenance on equipment and management of the Rental Department Employee Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains clean and efficient workspaces with an open and welcoming environment for guests.

  • Assists staff and resolves any guest service issues that may arise.

  • Manages maintenance ofall rental equipment in a safe and satisfactory condition.

  • Ensures all equipment checks are performed to industry standards.

  • Trains workers in policies department procedures and job duties.

  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet business needs and levels.

  • Recommends measures to improve departmental operation methods and performance.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop department and work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates and suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintains complete record keeping system.

  • Performs activities of workers supervised.

  • Ensures theRental department and employees are in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).

  • Snow removal as required.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directlysupervises1-10employees in the Rental department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning assigning and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Promotes and exemplifies the Homewood culture of exceptional guest service team work innovation and fun! Works well independently and with others. Enjoys pitching in whenever and wherever assistance is needed. Conducts and shows a high level of professionalism. Values our safety culture our community and maintaining a healthy sustainable environment. Ensures that guests and employees have a fun safe and memorable experience. Asks questions shares concerns or gives ideas on innovation and efficiencies that improve both the guests and employees experience.

Language Skills:

  • Literate and fluent in English.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

  • Additional language(s) desirable.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra geometry and trigonometry.

  • Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral mathematical or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Computer and database knowledge

  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.

  • Often required to use the computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distant vision color and peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to lift/move 10 lbs. or more and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to lift/move 25 lbs. or more and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  • Telephones PC database office supplies and filing cabinets

  • Handheld radio

  • Cash registers

  • Snow removal equipment

  • Hand tools such as: screw drivers scissors and pliers.

  • Frequently handling skis/ ski boots.

  • Ski wax machine and grind machine.
