The Amazon Device Design Team is an innovative R&D group that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. What began as Lab126 in 2004 has grown into the Device Design Team behind beloved products like Kindle Fire tablets Fire TV and Amazon Echo. Now were looking for a Senior Additive Prototyping Specialist to join us in our mission of creating whats next.
As a Senior Additive Prototyping Specialist youll be responsible for delivering innovative 3D printing and additive technology capabilities to support our rapid prototyping needs. This includes everything from data preparation and machine setup to print management post-processing and cross-functional collaboration. Youll work to expand our additive expertise leveraging both internal and external resources to complement our fabrication capabilities.
Key accountabilities include: - Managing consumables supply and waste disposal performing equipment maintenance and coordinating external service providers - Providing strategic input on new additive equipment as part of our annual capital planning - Confirming safety protocols and maintaining a clean organized work environment for the entire team - Working closely with Facilities to ensure regulatory compliance
Your additive expertise will directly translate into innovative prototypes - from full-color models and textured parts to human factors studies and engineered components. Youll also contribute to the discovery of new prototyping and manufacturing technologies that could unlock future possibilities.
- 7 years related experience running and post processing some or all of the following printers: Stratasys J750/J850 (Full color) Formlabs Forms 4 & 4L Fuse 1() Markforged X7 Metal-X. This includes some or all of the specific post processing equipment for each printer. Bambu Prusa Snapmaker Elegoo various Pro-Sumer level printers. - 7 years related experience in leading an additive department or working in an additive environment. - Associates degree in Design Engineering or Fabrication/Model Making/Art. - CAD experience with Creo Rhino Fusion-360 SolidWorks or similar.
- Bachelors degree in Design Engineering or Fabrication/Model Making/Art. - Experience with Materialize Magics part processing software - Proven ability to innovate with current technology and extend capabilities through prototyping - Passion for collaborative problem-solving and a customer-obsessed mindset
