Summary of Position
Directs and coordinates activities concerned with the operation of the manufacturing department to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize is done by completing various duties individually as well as through subordinates.
Principal Responsibilities
- Train and encourage team to improve in all areas of the business.
- Contact and field questions from the Customers Sales Force and Front End Organization.
- Set high standards of conduct and lead by example.
- Increase productivity while not compromising quality.
- Assist in the development of yearly budgets and budget containment.
- Assist with the development of yearly business plans and report on monthly progress toward those plans.
- Reduce errors and customer returns by root cause analysis and put corrective action plans into place.
- Reduce inventory levels while not compromising customer delivery.
- Review all safety and OSHA requirements and make sure they are being adhered to.
- Support Kaizen methodologies to continue to improve processes.
- Lead continuous improvement and profitability growth on initiatives monthly.
- Work with company policies and procedures
Requirements / Education
Minimum of a bachelors degree in Business or Engineering.
10 Years of hands-on operations experience in a manufacturing environment managing technical and hourly resources
- Must be self-directed well organized and have good follow-up skills.
- Strong record of continuous improvement success including demonstrated experience using Kaizen cellular manufacturing one-piece flow 5-S standard work visual management kanban and process linking methodologies.
- Metal machining and assembly background.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills.
- Solid PC skills including proficiency in MS Office applications
