Smith Industries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys the administrative side of HR from payroll and benefits administration to compliance and recordkeeping while also being a trusted resource for employees and managers. The HR Generalist will play a key role in keeping our HR operations running smoothly and ensuring a positive employee experience across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding including new hire documentation orientation and benefits enrollment.
  • Support recruitment efforts with job postings scheduling and pre-employment checks.
  • Administer benefits programs and assist with open enrollment activities.
  • Prepare and process payroll ensuring accurate PTO tracking deductions and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state requirements including I-9 documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Support performance reviews employee relations and disciplinary processes.
  • Conduct HRIS data audits and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain organizational charts and HR records in both digital and physical formats.
  • Provide general HR support and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR administration payroll or benefits coordination preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems payroll platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel Word).
  • Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
