Job Summary
Acuity Brands Lighting Inc. is seeking an innovative highly motivated results driven and LEAN focused Product and Quality Engineer to join our team reporting to a Senior Manager Focus Factory. This Product and Quality Engineer role is an opportunity to accelerate manufacturing leadership development in a dynamic and metrics/results driven technological manufacturing organization. The Product and Quality Engineer performs a variety of engineering work to develop design specify and document systems that guarantee Product and Process Quality Assurance encompassing all actions needed to ensure products and processes consistently meet and exceed customer expectations. Working with other engineering disciplines in the development and sustaining process he/she will ensure continuous improvement in the Customer experience with good quality. This position will also support new product introductions to ensure quality criterias are met to satisfy customer needs.

Customer Quality Claim Reduction and Cost of Poor Quality Reduction (CoPQ) 35%
Quality Assurance and Control Process Administration 25%
New Product Introduction 15%
Product Engineering Change and Bill of Materials update 10%
Cost Reduction Process 15%


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Bachelors Degree (Mechanical Electrical or Industrial Engineering. Engineering Technology Degrees are preferred).or Equivalent
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Quality System implementation (QMS) Quality Assurance Knowledge Corrective Action Management (Problem Solving Techniques) Process Control (Definition and monitoring Process Critical Variable) Product specification and documentation maintenance APQP / PPAP Knowledge (PFMEA Product Spec Test Spec Knowledge Control Plan Process Flow Chart Calibration) Geometrical Dimensional &Tolerance
Experience and Foundational Knowledge of Lean Principles. Lean Cell Design and demonstrated ability in continuous improvement
Knowledge of engineering concepts and principles - Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFA) Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) Design/Process Control Methods
Required to have high project management skills leadership/teamwork High level of detail analysis skills Good negotiator proactive and excellent interpersonal skills. Should have worked in multicultural and collaborative environment.
Proficient Computer and Analytical Skills English Advanced (90%)

Masters degree
3 years of experience in manufacturing environment
